Peter is entering his sixth year as UMBC Head Diving Coach and his sixth season as Retriever Dive Club Head Coach.
Peter was born in Bulgaria, Europe. He won more than 50 National Titles throughout his diving career. He competed for Bulgaria in the 1992 Summer Olympic Games in Barcelona.
In 2000, shortly after he finished his competitive career, he came to the United States as a performer in a High Dive Show in Williamsburg, VA.
In 2001 Peter moved to the Washington Metropolitan area where he became a recognized coach at Montgomery Dive Club in Rockville, MD. Moreover, he coached at the College of William & Merry – Willaimsburg, VA (2000-2001) and at the American University – Washington, D.C. (2001-2003). Peter was also one of the coaches representing USA at the 2008 FINA Junior Diving World Championships – Aahen, Germany.
Peter has been judging the USA Diving National Championships since 2001.
Tim began his diving career when he was 15 while in high school. He soon began diving with John Smith, building a passion for the sport, that culminated with him winning Frederick County diving championships his Senior year in 2010. Tim’s college career began later in 2010 when he went to UMBC, and started to work with Petar Trifonov in the fall that year. Summer of 2011 he became head coach of Lochearn, one of the teams in the Central Maryland dive league. After that initial season, he began assistant coaching with the club team at UMBC. By the summer of 2014 he had completed 3 summers as a head coach of Lochearn in the CMDL and had 3 years of coaching experience with UMBC with 2 national qualifiers. His collegiate career ended with him and his two teammates having two podium sweeps at conferences, along with an appearance at NCAA division 1 zone meet. He spent the rest of 2014 working and assistant coaching with Mike Grapner and the WVU dive team. Currently he has just completed his fourth season as a CMDL summer team head coach, this last year with Crofton swim and tennis, and is now the head coach, running UMBC’s club dive program.
Kyle Bianchini hails from Southern New Jersey. He first started diving in high school and finished in the top 8 as a high school senior. Kyle attended Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ and competed on their diving team for coach Andy Mackoff. During his college career Kyle was a conference finalist and an all academic team member. He co-founded the TNT Diving Club at Rowan University with his coach and coached in the South Jersey Diving league for three years before leaving to complete a master’s degree. Kyle is currently the head coach of the Five Oaks Dive team in the Central Maryland Dive League.
